Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in a skilled nursing facility. Your expertise in physical therapy techniques and your ability to develop effective care plans will be essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Duties

Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans and therapeutic exercises tailored to individual patient needs.

Perform trigger point therapy and other manual techniques to alleviate pain and improve mobility.

Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.

Participate in discharge planning by preparing patients for their transition out of therapy, ensuring they understand their home exercise programs.

Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, including treatment sessions, progress notes, and medical terminology relevant to each case.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients.

Educate patients and their families on anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and the importance of adherence to prescribed therapy regimens.

Experience

Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Familiarity with medical terminology and an understanding of anatomy and physiology are essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.

Experience in both inpatient and outpatient clinic settings is a plus, providing a well-rounded perspective on patient care.

A strong commitment to patient care, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills are crucial for success in this role.
