Travel Nurse Job Details
Location: Columbus, Ohio (43205) – Central Ohio healthcare jobs
Facility Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – Critical Care Float Pool
Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Start Date: November 10, 2025
End Date: January 5, 2026
Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (19:00 – 07:30); 3x12s or 4x12s per week
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2430–$2490
Patient Ratios: 2:1
Holiday Requirement: Must start by 12/1; no time off requests permitted
PICU RN Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nursing experience
Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
BLS and PALS certifications required
Proficiency with EPIC charting (self-rated 3/4 or higher)
Ability to provide 2 professional references (one must be a manager or supervisor)
Willingness to float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department (ED), stepdown, and MedSurg units
First-time travel nurses considered with 3+ years of experience and Level 1 Trauma experience
Cannot have worked as permanent staff for Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the past 2 years
Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the facility
PICU RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MedSurg units as assigned
Perform advanced clinical skills: ventilator management, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and hemodynamic monitoring
Administer medications including antiarrhythmics, anti-seizure drugs, IV vasopressors, and insulin
Assist with intubation, chest tube maintenance, and airway management
Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias
Provide wound care, vaccine administration, and pediatric dosage calculations
Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
