POSITION SUMMARY

Constellis' Layered Extended Security Operations (LEXSO) program is redefining integrated security through advanced sensing, AI automation, and multi-sensor fusion. To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Director of Field Engineering - a hybrid role blending Field Systems Leadership and Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) - responsible for the operational readiness, deployment, and reliability of LEXSO's global technology footprint.

The Senior Director of Field Engineering leads the design, deployment, and sustainment of fielded LEXSO systems that integrate cutting-edge sensors (RFID, radar, LiDAR, EO/IR, seismic, and acoustic, among many others), edge compute nodes, and resilient communication architectures (Satellite, cellular, other RF, and private network). This role ensures LEXSO performs with high availability and minimal downtime in complex environments - from U.S. critical infrastructure to international operational sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead all field engineering operations, including installation, commissioning, and lifecycle support of LEXSO systems at customer sites.

Develop and enforce service reliability engineering (SRE) principles to achieve mission-critical uptime, telemetry monitoring, and automated recovery across hybrid cloud and edge systems.

Oversee IT, networking, and sensor integration infrastructure, ensuring interoperability among diverse hardware and software ecosystems.

Design and execute reliability testing protocols - validating system resilience under environmental, electrical, and cyber stress conditions.

Direct a team of field engineers, technicians, and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety, security, and quality assurance standards.

Partner with LEXSO software, AI, and DevOps teams to enhance sensor-to-cloud performance, automate fault response, and improve operational telemetry.

Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective action plans for reliability and availability improvements.

Establish scalable deployment workflows for rapid installation at government and commercial sites worldwide.

Coordinate closely with Program Management, System Integration, Platform and clients alike to ensure technical synchronization across projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.

10+ years of experience in technical operations, field engineering, systems reliability, or mission-critical operations (defense, aerospace, or national security sectors preferred).

Proven leadership managing multidisciplinary teams in field installations and remote site operations.

Experience with sensor technologies (LiDAR, radar, EO/IR, seismic, RF, etc.) and data integration frameworks.

Demonstrated ability to architect and maintain reliable, high-availability systems in austere or disconnected environments.

Active or eligible DoD security clearance preferred.
