Maintenance Planner
Location: Elko, NV
Compensation: $45 - $55/hr. (commensurate with experience)
Reports To: Field Services Manager
Position Overview
The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance. This role ensures all equipment maintenance, inspections, and service tasks are carried out efficiently to maximize uptime and support operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills and a solid understanding of maintenance systems, equipment lifecycle, and warranty management.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling:
Schedule, and coordinate planned maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities.
Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and execution of maintenance and inspection tasks.
Utilize Equipment Service Requests (ESRs) to plan, track, and close maintenance and service tasks.
Plan equipment shutdowns and service intervals in collaboration with field operations and drilling schedules.
Service, Work Orders & Inspections
Schedule and coordinate routine inspections and service intervals, and ensure their completion (e.g., work orders, crane inspections, pressure vessels, fire inspections, DOT and safety compliance).
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, including documentation of corrective actions.
Interface with field personnel and supervisors to gather feedback and adjust schedules as needed.
Inventory & Parts:
Ensure critical spares and parts are available to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Collaborate with supply chain and warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory levels and forecast usage.
Provide input on inventory planning, parts kitting, and reorder thresholds based on usage data and failure trends.
Warranty & Component Failure Management
Track and manage warranty claims for parts and equipment to ensure cost recovery.
Log and analyze component failures to identify trends, or recurring issues.
Trend Analysis & Reporting
Monitor and report on premature failure trends.
Equipment Damage Reporting
Create and distribute Equipment Damage Reports.
Use damage data to develop prevention strategies and reduce repeat incidents.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in maintenance planning, preferably in drilling, oil & gas, or heavy equipment industries.
Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and rotating equipment.
Proficient in MS Office Suite. Preferred ERP systems experience.
Familiarity with warranty management, component lifecycle tracking, and reliability principles.
