Responsibilities
Manage employee schedules and payroll through various systems
Timely and accurate pay for contractors; semi-automated approval and coding through Basware System
Promote a positive safety culture and enforce compliance
Manage inventories (lumber, culverts, etc.)
Manage technology in company equipment
Ensure all company equipment (half-tons, storage facilities, etc.) are kept up to JDI standards
Ensure all legal and environmental permit requirements are met properly
Qualifications
Educational Requirements: Trade Certification/College Diploma or experience in forest road construction and maintenance
Experience Requirements: 3-7 years in the forest industry
Mechanical knowledge is considered an asset
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)
Strong team leadership skills
Excellent ability to multi-task
Ability to prioritize tasks to consistently meet deadlines
Excellent analytical and data-driven thinking
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong time management skills and able to work with minimal supervision
Strong ability to work independently as well as a strong team player
Able to give accurate directions and maps to job locations
Ability to so some physically demanding tasks, such as picketing
