Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Geoscience, the Senior Manager of Mining and Geoscience Data will lead the mining and geoscience data strategy across the company, overseeing data management, database governance, and integration across operations.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the mining and geoscience data management strategy across the company.

Provide technical leadership in data management to exploration groups and mining operations.

Communicate and collaborate with database managers and administrators to ensure consistency.

Work with environmental and metallurgical professionals to integrate critical datasets.

Support ongoing mining project executions through technical advice for dataset flow and integrity.

Devise GIS solutions for real-time field data collection for exploration and mine geology.

Create and maintain dashboard solutions for key performance indicators (KPIs).

Conduct regular database audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

Liaise with data source providers (assaying labs, remote sensing, geophysical contractors) to ingest high-quality datasets.

Negotiate with data management software and technology providers for best pricing and licensing.

Travel up to 50% of the time to remote exploration projects and mining operations.

Education and Experience

B.Sc. and M.Sc. in geoscience with 10–15 years of data management experience in the mining industry; Ph.D. considered an asset.

Knowledge of exploration and mining data generation procedures (drilling, core logging, field mapping, sampling, and assaying).

Experience building and maintaining mining and geoscience databases.

Proficiency in AcQuire, SQL, Power BI, and Python.

Experience with Geosoft DAP, Maxwell Geoscience DataShed, and similar platforms.

Experience with geospatial software such as ESRI ArcGIS, Geosoft Target, and Leapfrog.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with experts and non-specialists.
