Steward E.S.D. 220Steward School District #220 has a full time, K-8, elementary music teaching position starting for the 2025 - 2026 school year. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in music education is preferred and full certification for K-8 teaching in Illinois is required. This full-time position is shared between Steward ESD #220 in Steward, IL, and Eswood ESD #269 in Lindenwood, IL. Each school and district will fully fund 50% of salary and benefits. One half of each school week will be spent on each campus.

The K-8 music teacher is responsible for all aspects of the elementary music education curriculum including, but not limited to, planning/implementing lessons, keeping thorough records, evaluating student progress, and positively working and communicating with parents, staff, and community members. The candidate will help all pupils grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences. These should include singing, musical movement, playing of instruments and listening to a variety of musical selections and genres. Qualities of the ideal candiadte will include high levels of professionalism, flexibility, collegiality, and team-oriented goal-setting. The candidate will be expected to create a safe, welcoming and engaging classroom environment that fosters curiosity, involves students of diverse abilities, and motivates academic ans well as social-emotional growth and progress.
