The position
We are looking for a dynamic visual art teacher to join our team. This teacher should be innovative and skilled in various areas of visual art. This role includes IB Visual Art at the SL and HL level as well as various semester long high school visual arts classes.

Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience high school visual arts courses required;
Experience teaching IB Visual Arts (preferred)
Experience teaching digital arts courses (photography, animation, graphic design, film, etc. preferred)
Experience using the National Core Arts Standards (NCAS) and an inquiry based curriculum (preferred)
Solid conceptual and applied knowledge of current research and trends in curriculum, instruction, and assessment required
Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues required
English proficiency required

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to fostering the mission, vision, and values of Nido;
Engage in the Nido community by promoting a positive, collaborative school culture;
Teach five high school art classes each semester; position includes IB SL/HL Art
Collaborate with the performing arts department to further develop and improve the arts curriculum- this includes participating in weekly curricular planning meetings with course-alike teaching partners;
Lead and participate in exhibitions, performances, and cultural/community events related to the arts;
Serve as an Advisor for a small group of 8-12 students;
Engage in the co-curricular, after school program at Nido by advising a club or coaching an athletic team;
Participate in the annual Week Without Walls outdoor travel program
