Hyperion Technology Group, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Controls Technician to join our team. Candidates must be self-motivated, reliable, and customer service minded. HTG builds custom automated machinery, testing equipment, and specialized systems for a variety of industries, including but not limited to Consumer Products, Medical/Life Sciences, Industrial and Government Agencies.

Essential duties:

Electrical panel building and assembly

Machine wiring and cable-routing

Pneumatic and some hydraulic plumbing and assembly

Assist with mechanical machine assembly

Machine electrical and pneumatic power-up

Machine installation at customer location (travel required 15%-20%)

Equipment debug and troubleshooting

Manual soldering/assembly functions. Tasks to be performed include supporting machine placed components with hand assembly support on prototype and production printed circuit boards.

Properly interpreting customers supplied documentation and drawings or seeking help in their interpretation.

Completing and maintaining records of production and defects.

Maintaining technical re-certification as required.

Troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuit cards and assemblies

Building cable assemblies per cable drawings or build instructions.

Performing composite lay-ups and mechanical assembly of components.

Prepare products for shipment.

Maintaining inventory of commodity items common to electrical/electronics assembly.

Maintenance of electronics laboratory and assembly tools and equipment.

Read and understand electrical/electronic schematics and instructions.

Operate standard electronic test equipment, i.e., Digital Oscilloscope, multi-meters, etc.

Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry.

Troubleshoot, re-work and/or modify electrical/electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies during the manufacturing process per Manufacturing Orders or Engineering Changes.

Measures parts and assemblies using standard measuring equipment including scales, tape measures, and calipers.

Performs in-process and final product inspections and signs off appropriate quality documents as required.

Suggests and performs engineering tool and product modifications as directed by engineering/management.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics

Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and UL 508A electrical standards

Knowledge of Arc flash safety

Knowledge of good wiring practices

Electrical panel building

Strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to run basic shop tools safely

Hydraulic and Pneumatic plumbing

Strong electrical knowledge

Basic computer skills

Excellent problem-solving ability

Ability to work in a team environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Good organizational and planning abilities

Required Education and Experience:

Industrial Technology Associates Degree, Electronics Technology Associates Degree, or in a related field from an accredited college, or trade school.

2-4 years' experience in electronics assembly, electro-mechanical assembly or a related work environment.

Must be able to work overtime when needed.Physical Requirements:

Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors.

Candidate must be able to lift 25-50 pounds frequently

Duties will also require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting light to moderately heavy objects.
