JOB SUMMARY

Train, test and qualify all Level I and Level II Grain Read and Etch Operators.

Provide feedback to management.

Conduct MSA Kappa and NDT Monitoring exercises quarterly.

Identify and implement improvement activities as needed.

Assist operations in reading when needs arise to meet schedules.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all calibrated NADCAP required equipment is current to calibration standards in grain etch area.

Assist responsible Level III in all NADCAP audits as needed.

Create overall Grain Etch Departmental work instructions.

Approve product engineering instructions drafted by engineering for all graine etch and .

Train and qualify all Level I Etch Operators

Train and qualify all Level II Grain Readers.

Visual Inspection of production castings in the grain etch condition as needed to support production needs.

Read and map all grain defects on all NPI/FPQ approval lots 100%

Maintain and conduct MSA Kappa studies on all Level II grain read operators, quarterly.

Maintain and conduct NDT Defect Monitoring exercises per CPP internal instructions, quarterly.

Maintain and conduct RFT% through Grain Read Department, daily, monthly and quarterly reports to Quality Manager.

Ensure light meter readings are being conducted weekly by Level II Readers

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Certifications: Level III Grain Read/Etch certificate from an approved source.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of metric system. Ability to read. Ability to process new information. Basic computer skills. Reasoning ability. Good verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Detail oriented. Accurate. Mechanically inclined. Safety conscious. Team oriented.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Working Environment: Factory floor area working with acid and fumes

Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in

Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.

Safety Shoes: Chemical resistant steel/composite toed shoes or boots.
