Job Title: Electronics Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Assembler to join our team and play a pivotal role in assembling electronic and mechanical products. In this position, you will work with various components, including transistors, resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits, utilizing small hand tools and soldering equipment. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality products in a clean, climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

Read, interpret, and work from drawings, blueprints, schematics, work orders, wiring diagrams, product samples, and written or verbal instructions with limited supervision to determine assembly duties and materials requirements.

Select components such as transistors, resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits.

Assemble electronic/mechanical products, systems, or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using small hand tools and soldering equipment.

Clean parts using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.

Perform assembly operations under a microscope or other magnifying devices.

Position and align parts in specified relationships using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices and prepare soldering surfaces.

Utilize a variety of equipment including power supplies, multimeters, leak detection/vacuum systems, pressure generators, volt meters, ohmmeters, ovens, soldering equipment, microscopes, and precision hand tools.

Align and clamp parts together or position items in fixtures, jigs, or other holding devices as required.

Measure parts to determine tolerances using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.

Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.

Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.

Perform intermediate assembly tasks such as potting, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, and etching parts and assemblies.

Perform trimming, preparation, and application of components including wire, cables, connectors, and resistors using solder and various adhesives as specified by prints and procedural documents.

Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

Perform go/not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet quality, performance, and production specifications and standards.

Create documentation for process improvement (ECR).

Confers with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities or resolve production problems.

Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.

Produce parts/products efficiently with a minimum of waste and rework.Essential Skills

1 or more years of electronic PCB assembly experience

1 or more years of soldering or wire harnessing experience

1 or more years of J Standard electronic assembly using a microscope, wire harnessing, soldering assembly, microscope assembly, small parts assemblyAdditional Skills & Qualifications

1 to 2 years of soldering experience (surface mount, through-hole, etc.)

1 to 2 years of microscopic assembly experience

1 to 2 years of experience with quality standards and ESD-safe procedures

1 to 2 years of experience with solder/soldering iron and small quantities of assembly supplies and chemicals

1 to 2 years of experience assembling SMT (surface mount) and through-hole electronic components

Strong communication skills and ability to understand verbal and written instructions

Experience in soldering, soldering under a microscope, wire harnessing, and schematic readingWhy Work Here?

The environment is clean, climate-controlled, and consists of various departments including Warehouse, Assembly, Engineering, Production, and Fabrication.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sunbury, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $23.00/hr.
