Position Overview

The Department of Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks applications for one or more Lecturers to teach undergraduate and/or graduate course(s). Duties include but are not limited to: leading synchronous classes and/or creating pre-recorded videos; holding office hours; creating and grading assignments and submitting grades; may participate in course materials development, curriculum development, course coordination and may assign and oversee the work of teaching assistants. Courses may be taught in person on the University’s Columbus campus and/or online. Successful applicants must reside in Ohio during their employment. Successful candidates may be appointed part-time or full-time with start dates for autumn semester 2025, spring semester 2026 or autumn semester 2026.

Accurately present course concepts and guide students through activities

Create an engaging and inclusive environment for students in each class

Demonstrate commitment to student success

Work collaboratively with department faculty, students and staff

Maintain confidentiality of student information

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Master’s degree in statistics or closely related field by the start of employment; ability to work in the United States by August 15, 2026.

Desired: PhD in statistics or closely related field; instructional experience in statistics at the collegiate level; strong written and oral English communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to be present on the Columbus campus multiple times per week; ability to work in the United States by August 15, 2025.
