What you’ll do at OhioMHAS:

Under general direction of the Assistant CEO and the Director of Nursing, this Psychiatric Nurse Supervisor provides supervision of the Nurse Educators and Training Officers in the Staff Education and Training (SET) Department and oversees the operational needs of the department.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinates continuing education requirements of the nursing staff as required by Ohio Administrative Code 4723-14-03 as well as the standards of the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Researches and identifies resources, training references, programs, and courses to meet staff competency needs.

Designs and conducts trainings based on needs assessments and agency requirements.

Maintains employee training records

Coordinates continuing education requirements for EPIC and other programs

Continually monitors quality of nursing care through the nursing departments QA/PI processes.

Maintains knowledge of COBH procedures of responding to workplace incidents, safety and prevention programs, and infection control.

Help identify risks to health and safety. Responds to and reports risks and incidents

Assists with recruitment and retention of nursing staff

Assists with staff orientations

Attends meetings, trainings, and workshops

Works with nursing schools and colleges to maintain relationships.

Administrative tasks such as: Managing use of overtime, approves/disproves time and leave requests, completes and administers performance reviews, coaches and counsels team members as need.

This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units, with a pay range of #15 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm. Note, schedule may vary based on needs of the business.

Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code; 24 mos. exp. in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities; 3 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in public relations; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in counseling.

-Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure.
