Receives, ships, transfers and stores raw materials, packaging materials and finished products in a safe and organized manner. Maintains the quality of perishable items and inventories of all warehoused goods. Supplies packaging and processing areas with supplies as needed to ensure continuous production.
Responsibilities
Ensures receipt of raw materials, packaging materials and finished products according to company procedures in SAP/Neptune.
Replenishes supplies of packaging and raw materials to production areas as needed in SAP/Neptune (following the picking for production SAP Job Aid).
Follow FEFO principles to ensure proper rotation and minimize product waste.
Unloads inbound materials and inspects containers for damage.
Inspects, operates and maintains power lifting equipment.
Returns production materials to appropriate bin locations, ensuring systematic (SAP/Neptune) and physical location accuracy, after use.
Wraps and prepares finished product pallets for shipping.
Maintains company standards for cleanliness, food and equipment safety and productivity in the production area.
Ensures all raw material containers are properly labeled with visible handling unit (which includes allergen, unit of measure, batch, material number, etc.).
Performs daily inspections on power equipment and escalates concerns to manager.
Identifies products to be shipped, verifies label and codes, loads appropriate amount onto trucks to be shipped.
Enters information for inventory of products corresponding to amount received and shipped.
Comply with all health, safety, and food handling regulations.
Serve as a Qualified Individual as part of the plant’s Food Safety Plan, including monitoring and verification activities related to process control and preventive control measures.
Responsible for preventive control measures including proper Supply Chain controls.
Qualifications
Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain industrial truck (forklift) operating certification.
Basic mechanical aptitude, computer skills and good math skills are required.
Previous experience as a forklift operator preferred.
Ability to work cooperatively with a team.
High school diploma or GED.
Working Conditions/Environment
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more at various frequencies and or intervals. Must be able to stand for an 8 – 10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
