Research Senior Associate to join a research team in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences, performing research in high-throughput protein engineering. Duties include designing and developing new experimental approaches and equipment, analyzing research results, and preparing manuscripts for publication. Other responsibilities include collaborating with the PI and research group, assisting with proposals for external funding, and supervising both graduate and undergraduate student assistants.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Chemistry or related area or equivalent research experience required; 3 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree, or 1 year of relevant experience required with Master's Degree. Proficient in cloning, alignment, and structure prediction using AlphaFold and PyMol.

Desired Qualifications:

PhD in Chemistry or related area and 3 years of research experience. Research interests in directed evolution, protein engineering, biochemistry, chemical biology, and assay development. Experience in site-directed and random mutagenesis; protein purification and characterization; mammalian, yeast, bacterial, and insect cell expression, FPLC, and affinity-based purification is highly desirable.

The pay range for this job profile is $58,700 - $77,200. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
