Role Overview
The QA Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring the Quality Management System (QMS) within the company by conducting process control inspections, internal audits, and ensuring compliance with international standards. The role involves assisting the Quality Manager in developing processes and policies to ensure error-free and timely outputs across the business unit . Additionally, the QA Engineer is tasked with ensuring the effective implementation of quality procedures and supporting the company’s accreditations and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation and Monitoring of QMS
Implement the QMS, including manuals, policies, and procedures, in coordination with the Quality Manager and other departments to drive continual improvement.
Identify potential non-conformities, request preventive actions, and suggest process improvements.
Periodically review the effective implementation of updated know-how documents across all processes.
Accreditations and Certifications
Review and identify improvements in policies and procedures related to accreditations and certifications.
Verify the implementation of new policies and procedures at the point of use.
Assist the Quality Manager in renewing company accreditations and product certifications to ensure continuity.
International Standards Compliance
Periodically review the validity of QMS-related international standards.
Conduct gap analysis when international standards are revised, in coordination with the BU Quality Manager and department heads.
Prepare new procedures or revise existing ones to comply with updated requirements.
Revision of Quality Assurance Procedures
Collaborate with departments to gather feedback for improving QA procedures, focusing on continual improvement.
Summarise required changes in the QMS and discuss them with the Quality Manager and Global Quality team.
Revise quality procedures based on management approval.
Internal Audits
Conduct internal audits as per the approved audit plan, raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) for non-compliance, and follow up on their closeouts.
Prepare internal audit reports highlighting findings and areas for improvement, obtaining approval from the Quality Manager and Geo-Market Manager.
Perform follow-up audits to close NCRs and monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions taken.
Data Analysis
Verify data accuracy and perform analyses for customer complaints, surveys, and supplier evaluations.
Analyze product compliance, rejection rates, corrective actions, raw material performance, etc.
Contract Review
Analyze major purchase orders/contracts from a QA perspective and identify additional requirements.
Product Qualification Tests
Participate in product qualification tests, including HDB, Survival, Burst, Strain Corrosion, and Creep tests.
Compile test reports and update the Qualification Test Library.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science.
Preferred Experience:
3–5 years of QA experience in a medium to large manufacturing company.
Proven experience in thread inspections of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) based on API standards.
Proven experience in managing QMS based on API Q1 and ISO 9001.
Job-Specific Skills:
Strong quality management skills.
IRCA-certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2015.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 Management System.
Excellent report writing skills.
Fluency in English.
