Configuration Management Specialist
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Pay: 45-48/hour
Long term contract
Position Overview
Join our dynamic team in Minneapolis, MN, and play a vital role in Configuration Management (CM) for the design, development, and production of complex systems within a defense environment. You’ll ensure consistency, compliance, and excellence across every phase of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all changes to approved configurations using a systematic, measurable change process.
- Deliver and maintain the Engineering Technical Data Package (TDP) by implementing CM processes in accordance with the CM Plan.
- Support and participate in configuration management and quality audits.
- Investigate and develop solutions to moderate-scope and moderately complex problems, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
- Associate degree, or at least 4 years of Configuration Management experience.
- Proficient in using databases.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially in preparing metrics, reports, and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in Department of Defense (DoD) environments strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years of Configuration Management experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with:
- Military standards: MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000
- Industry CM standard: EIA-649
- Drawing standards: ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.100
- Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM) is advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (complex formulas) and proficiency with MS Access.
- Experience managing Bill of Materials (BOM) structures is highly desirable.
- Oracle ERP experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with CMMI requirements is a plus.
