What You'll Do

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio State Highway Patrol – Ohio State Highway Patrol Office of Recruitment

Report in location: 740 East 17th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43211

Work Days and hours would vary between: Monday - Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm depending on student’s schedule.

This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:

Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour

Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

Major/field of study should be in:

· Criminal Justice

· Social Sciences (Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work)

· Related Field of Study

Job duties:

· Running recruitment processing reports

· Scheduling Cadet Interns that meet the minimum qualifications

· File Organization

· Database management

· Conducting research projects

· Researching key recruitment events

· Running data analysis

· Creating of data reports

· Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., attending meetings, performing routine clerical work).

Employment Requirements (all must be verified upon hire)

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.

Be in good standing with the college/university.

Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

Be enrolled in at least one course.

Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
