Cost Accountant

GEE Group is hiring a skilled Cost Accountant to support a well-established manufacturing partner. This isn't just a back-office role-it's embedded in operations, partnering closely with plant teams to ensure financial accuracy, drive performance insights, and keep production costs in check.

What you'll do:

Reconcile key general ledger accounts: inventory, WIP, COGS

Analyze plant-level expenses and report budget/forecast variances

Monitor manufacturing variances: labor, material, overhead, production

Collaborate with operations and supply chain to identify cost drivers

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and support month/year-end close

Lead cycle and physical inventory counts; resolve discrepancies

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and capital project tracking

Support internal/external audits and asset management efforts

What we're looking for:

5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting

Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and GAAP

ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar)

Strong Excel skills and experience working with large data sets

High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and a process-driven approach
