Position Purpose:
PCA/MST Educator, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization. Provides consultation and education to patients, families, staff and physicians regarding the care of patients, assumes a leadership role in issues relating to patient care and acts as a change agent to support institutional initiatives pertaining to the care of patients.

Hours of office: casual hours expectations will be leading classes Monday – Friday 8:00a – 4:30p
What You Will Do:
Serves as a role model in the management of UAP (un-licensed assistive personnel) education and interactions within the classroom setting
Assesses the learning needs of UAP colleagues within the patient care settings in order to plan, organize, coordinate and participate in development and/or teaching of programs to meet those identified needs
Assists with developing and revising UAP course curriculum that reflects current evidence based practice and changing technology
Coordinates new hire UAP classes
Acts as a resource for staff regarding critical thinking, equipment use and problem solving regarding clinical situations relating to un-licensed practice
Promotes excellence in nursing and health care globally through ANCC's credentialing programs. As a role model, obtains ANPD certification for Professional Nurse Development within six months of meeting ANCC criteria
Creates, reviews and revises UAP course curriculum that reflects current evidence-based practice and changing technology
Collaborates with system managers and clinical educators for revising curriculum to meet identified needs and acts as a resource person for staff members in developing, completing and publishing clinical research
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from school of nursing; BSN required. Master's degree preferred.
Licensure / Certification: Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio; Professional certification preferred - obtained when eligible
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years recent experience in area of specialization
