Job Title: Sales & Consignment Manager
Location: Mississippi Aquarium, Gulfport, MS
Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing
Job Summary:
The Sales & Consignment Manager at the Mississippi Aquarium is responsible for driving revenue through group sales, event leads, corporate packages, and consignment ticket programs. This role involves creating and managing relationships with consignment partners and community businesses to ensure sales targets are met. The manager will develop strategies for promoting sales and consignment growth, analyze sales data, and implement best practices to optimize overall performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and sales, be organized, possess excellent communication skills and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Primary Responsibilities:
Build Group Sales
Design and implement a creative plan to connect with a variety of groups to promote MSAQ Group Sales Offerings
Coordinate all aspects of the group visit to MSAQ with both client and campus
Event Inquiries & Sales:
Develop and maintain relationships with clients to maximize sales opportunities.
Assist with driving event sales to Mississippi Aquarium by promoting event availability at networking functions and to clients
Strategic Partnerships and B2B Sales:
Identify and secure new business-to-business (B2B) sales opportunities for employee passes, team building experiences, corporate partners, and more
Manage the facilitation of packages and regularly check in with clients to ensure customer satisfaction
Consignment Ticket Sales Program:
Develop and manage a consignment ticket sales program in partnership with local hotels, military bases, and other relevant partners.
Oversee the operational aspects of consignment, including inventory management, stock replenishment, and ensuring products are showcased in a way that drives consumer interest and sales
Track and report on program performance, adjusting strategies as needed to meet sales targets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, hotel management, or related roles.
Proven track record in managing multiple large-scale events and driving revenue through sales programs.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be willing and available to work holidays, weekends and evenings.
Must be able to travel to and from networking events and potential clients.
Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and event management software.
