Position: Soldering Technician

Job Overview:
The Soldering Technician is responsible for performing precise and high-quality soldering operations to assemble or repair electronic components, circuit boards, and other related parts. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in soldering techniques and an understanding of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Soldering:
Perform soldering operations on circuit boards, components, and assemblies.
Use soldering irons, rework stations, and other tools to complete the task.
Follow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure proper assembly and functionality.
Inspection and Quality Control:
Inspect finished work to ensure proper solder joints, clean finishes, and correct component placement.
Perform testing and troubleshooting of components to ensure they meet quality standards.
Repair and Rework:
Repair defective boards or components by replacing or reflowing solder connections.
Address any issues with the soldering process to ensure quality and efficiency.
Component Handling:
Handle and manipulate small and delicate components, ensuring no damage occurs during assembly or repair.
Properly store and maintain tools and materials, ensuring all equipment is in working order.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any deviations or challenges encountered.
Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines in the workplace.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, production, and quality control teams to resolve technical issues and improve assembly processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Suggest improvements in soldering techniques and overall workflow to increase efficiency and reduce defects.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical certification or training is a plus).
Proven experience in soldering, preferably in electronics manufacturing or assembly.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Knowledge of electronic components, circuit boards, and wiring.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and schematics.
Proficiency with soldering tools, such as soldering irons, hot air guns, and rework stations.
Basic understanding of safety procedures when working with electronic equipment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with surface-mount technology (SMT) soldering.
Familiarity with inspection techniques (e.g., visual inspection, magnification tools).
Ability to troubleshoot and identify faulty components.
Experience with automated soldering equipment is a plus.
Work Environment:
Work in a clean, controlled environment, such as a manufacturing or repair facility.
Use of protective equipment and safety protocols is required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work with small components for extended periods.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while performing soldering tasks.
