Epic Site Specialist
Under general supervision, independently provides an intermediate level of operational and application build expertise in completing routine and occasionally more complex assignments to meet customer goals and desired outcomes. The focus is typically on medium to large projects, performing workflow analysis, build, and documentation in collaboration with internal and external team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, builds and implements assignments/projects and software programs.
Based on core knowledge of application and operational requirements can translate requirement/concepts into functionality.
May initiate, facilitate or lead meetings with end-user/business owner/department leadership. Provides orientation of the EMR with new hires and understands the ambulatory physician workflow and environment.

Demonstrates an ability to successfully complete assigned tasks/assignments, track issues and provide solution-oriented escalation while mitigating risk

Assists with re-engineering of operational work-flow processes, incorporates system specifications and configuration requirements with end-users/business owners and maintains working level understanding of assigned departmental operations
Demonstrates technical proficiency
Manages navigation of migration paths, change control process/governance, and ticket management processes
Provides high-level understanding of design integration and touch points with other Epic modules and/or other applications. Represents application team on work groups within the department or within project scope
Attends and represents workplace on various Epic related committees.
Maintains high quality design, build, testing, and roll-out; ensures documentation is provided for support and training
Manages and coordinates intermediate-advanced configuration, design and builds in collaboration with others
As needed, participates in new employee interviews and the on-boarding process and training with new team members
Provides on-call support during off hours
May also be responsible for portions of hardware management and trouble-shooting in case of absences
EDCUATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
EpicCare Ambulatory Certification preferred within 12 months of hire. Previous experience with Cadence, Ochin Wisdom, Dentrix, Grand Central and Behavioral Health is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
Requires 2-4 years of relevant healthcare setting experience. Experience working with healthcare information management systems and/or clinical operations experience and project management experience is preferred. Experienced with multiple priorities. Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrates initiative and pro-activeness in work.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, and CPT coding guidelines
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement guidelines
Knowledge with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) coding guidelines
Ability to research and analyze data, draw conclusions, and resolve issues
Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
Ability to read and interpret medical procedures and terminology
Ability to prepare reports and related documents
Ability to maintain confidentiality
