Compensation:
Pay Range: $73,945.00 - $120,165.00/year

Duties
Provides financial planning, analysis and recommendations in support of departmental operations according to established policies and procedures. Supervises activation and alignment of departmental budgeted accounts, re-appointment documents, budget changes and other adjustments as necessary. Prepares a variety of special and recurring analysis and reports supporting Health Systems Information Services (HSIS) planning. Constructs cost studies to support decision-making processes. Serves as financial analyst and source respondent for financial data for UAB s Accreditation Self-Study Program. Prepares documentation and transmittal letters to support compliance with Board of Trustees rules. Attends various committee/department meetings and other related conferences. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related conferences, seminars and the like
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Prepares the annual budget and monitors monthly variances, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
2. Conducts thorough analysis of financial transactions and devises effective solutions to address any issues or discrepancies.
3. Determines and calculates monthly accruals accurately to maintain financial integrity.
4. Prepares comprehensive monthly variance reports tailored for executive management, offering clear explanations and insights.
5. Collaborates with Finance representatives and HSIS executives, providing financial and budgetary explanations and engaging in discussions on pertinent HSIS financial matters.
6. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the accounting field by regularly reviewing journals and relevant literature to enhance professional knowledge and expertise.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and seven (7) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
