Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Onboard Revenue is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of select in-house and outsourced revenue streams. This role involves managing and supporting shoreside and shipboard employees across the fleet, both domestically and internationally, to ensure high-quality, luxury product experiences and exceptional guest service. The Senior Manager, Onboard Revenue is tasked with optimizing onboard revenue streams by collaborating with key stakeholders to create revenue initiatives, recommend pricing and promotional strategies, both short- and long-term.
This position is responsible for effectively communicating product and service standards, as well as product enhancements, to the shipboard teams and partners. The Senior Manager, Onboard Revenue, also ensures the development of training materials, quality assurance processes, and standard operating procedures.
Essential Duties
Revenue Strategy & Performance: Develop, analyze, and present comprehensive revenue forecasts, actual performance, and variance reports. Formulate and implement action plans and marketing strategies to meet and surpass ambitious revenue targets, driving year-over-year growth.
Partnership & Product Development: Establish and nurture strategic relationships with existing and potential shoreside and third-party vendors and tourism boards. Lead the development, pricing, and promotion of new products and services, including cross-selling initiatives, aligned with corporate objectives.
Guest Engagement & Experience Optimization: Create strategies to enhance guest engagement, personalize offerings using guest data, and optimize overall profitability. Oversee the delivery, standards, and service levels of all onboard revenue streams, developing training and operating guidelines for specific guest experiences.
Marketing & Communications Oversight: Manage the creation, timely delivery, and effectiveness of all onboard promotional materials (digital, print, video, POSM) and guest communications, ensuring strict adherence to brand standards and maximizing demand.
Operational Alignment & Collaboration: Collaborate extensively with shipboard teams, Heads of Departments (HODs), and shoreside departments to streamline revenue-related activities, ensure uniform policies and procedures, and align strategies for smooth execution.
Strategic Planning & Audits: Conduct research, competitive assessments, and SWOT analyses for long-term strategic development. Perform regular audits to identify opportunities, ensure compliance, and maintain high service levels.
Team Leadership & Representation: Serve as a key manager within a high-performing strategic team, fostering collaboration and representing the brand internally and externally on cross-functional projects.
Skills & Experience
Strong financial background with a proven track record of revenue achievements, budget accountability, and effective sales and marketing strategies
10+ years of work experience in revenue operations, including at least 10 years in a revenue department management role
Experience in shipboard operations and luxury hotel operations
Excellent communication; fluent English (written and verbal)
Ability to interact effectively with employees and management at all levels
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead brainstorming sessions for management teams
Expertise in navigating various software packages, including Excel, Word, and other related finance and data analytics programs
Proven ability in financial analysis, business modeling, and return on investment (ROI) analysis
Skilled in producing and delivering clear, concise graphs and presentations
Ability to analyze financial data, develop revenue forecasts, and manage budgets
Expertise in pricing models, yield management, and revenue forecasting
Ability to analyze data and trends to optimize revenue generation and business performance
Ability to present revenue strategies, financial reports, and performance updates to stakeholders
Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations teams
Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly
Understanding of market dynamics, competitors, and customer behavior specific to the business
Travel may be required
