Senior Construction Engineer

Moody Engineering is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to complement our fast-growing team in Columbus, Ohio. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Project management planning, monitoring, and implementation

Support business development and client interface

Constructability review of engineering plans for retail, commercial, higher education, residential, and municipal developments

Perform site visits and prepare reports during construction for site development, infrastructure, and roadway projects

Provide advice and creativity to resolve any potential problems/deficiencies quickly

Provide QA/QC to plans before Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, and Final Design

Provide advice and creativity to resolve any potential problems/deficiencies quickly

Take a project from pre-bid through construction close-out

Coordinate execution of projects with our staff, our clients, and our project team members

Train and educate Junior Construction Engineers

Ideal Candidate Skills Include:

15+ years of experience

3+ years of experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infrastructure Suite, or Microstation

ODOT Certified Project Inspector 1 / 2

ODOT Construction Engineer Level 1 / Construction Manager

ODOT Construction Engineer Level 2

PE is desired but not required

Experience with site development documents and permitting preferred with the City of Columbus, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Franklin County, or ODOT

Strong Construction Administration background

Experience with tunnels

Strong analytical and communication skills

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team with minimal oversight

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET-accredited College or University required in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
