Job Summary:
Synechron is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with expertise in AccelQ, Selenium, and related automation tools to enhance our quality engineering capabilities. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks that support continuous integration and delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with development and QA teams to deliver high-quality, reliable software solutions, thereby contributing to faster release cycles and improved product stability.
Software Requirements:
Required:
Proficiency with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, and JIRA
Hands-on experience with AccelQ automation platform
Knowledge of API testing (Postman, REST-assured, etc.) and database validation (SQL)
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint cycles
Preferred:
Experience with additional testing tools or frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, LoadRunner)
Knowledge of cloud integration testing (AWS, Azure)
Overall Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to validate functional and regression scenarios
Implement robust automation frameworks using Selenium, AccelQ, and associated tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, and QA to ensure alignment on testing strategies and quality standards
Identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring timely resolution
Continuously improve automation test coverage and optimize test execution for efficiency and reliability
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to incorporate testing perspectives and best practices
Maintain and enhance test libraries, frameworks, and test data management processes
Support the integration of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines for streamlined delivery
Technical Skills (By Category):
Programming Languages:
Essential: Java (core scripting language for Selenium integration)
Preferred: Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or JavaScript for API and test automation scripting
Databases/Data Management:
SQL proficiency for validating test data and backend verification
Frameworks and Libraries:
Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Maven, JUnit
Experience with AccelQ automation platform
Understanding of API testing frameworks (Postman, REST-assured, etc.)
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Jenkins, Git, Maven, JIRA
Agile and Scrum methodologies for collaborative delivery and continuous improvement
Security Protocols:
Not a primary focus but awareness of security testing principles is a plus
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years in automation testing, with hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks using Selenium and AccelQ
Prior experience testing enterprise applications, preferably in financial or technology sectors
Proven track record of integrating automation within CI/CD pipelines
Alternative pathways: Extensive experience in manual testing complemented by successful automation implementation projects
Day-to-Day Activities:
Write, maintain, and execute automated test cases for functional and regression testing
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize automation scripts to improve stability and coverage
Review test cases, provide feedback, and participate in peer code reviews
Collaborate actively in agile sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Coordinate with development teams to understand new features and technical specifications
Report defects and track resolution progress, ensuring quality benchmarks are met
Support CI/CD integration for automated test execution and reporting
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, Certified Selenium Professional, or AccelQ certifications are advantageous
Hands-on training or certifications in automation tools and frameworks
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry best practices
