We’re seeking an innovative and technically sophisticated Director of Network Architecture to lead the evolution of GTA’s telecommunications infrastructure. This is a senior leadership position responsible for designing and implementing next-generation network solutions across voice, VoIP, Ethernet, and optical platforms. As Director of Network Architecture, you will define and execute comprehensive network strategies that align with GTA’s business goals and growth plans. You’ll lead cross-functional engineering teams, collaborate with vendors and stakeholders, and ensure our network remains secure, scalable, and ahead of industry trends.
Strategic Network Design & Implementation:
Develop and execute comprehensive network architecture strategies that integrate voice, VoIP, Ethernet, and optical network technologies.
Lead the design, planning, and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance telecom solutions.
Oversee integration projects that incorporate data center environments to enhance overall network resilience and performance. Technical Leadership & Innovation:
Act as the subject matter expert on telecom network architecture, staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical roadmaps that support business goals and innovation initiatives. Project Management & Execution:
Oversee multi-phase network projects from conception through deployment, ensuring projects meet quality, budget, and timeline targets.
Manage technical risk assessments and implement robust mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with vendors and external partners to secure necessary technologies and services. Stakeholder & Vendor Relations:
Serve as the primary technical liaison with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical leadership and decision-makers.
Ensure that all network designs and implementations align with regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
Establish and monitor KPIs for network performance, reliability, and scalability.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives and drive process enhancements across the network architecture function.
Maintain documentation and provide regular updates on project progress and network performance.
Candidates must show:

Technical Mastery: In-depth expertise in telecom architecture, fiber optics, and network modernization.
Project Management: Proven ability to lead complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders.

Communication Skills: Capable of translating technical detail into business value for cross-functional teams.
Vendor & Partner Savvy: Skilled in building strong relationships with technology partners and regulatory entities.
This is what you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications and network architecture.
Proven track record of designing and managing networks that include voice, VoIP, Ethernet, and optical platforms.
Hands-on experience with data center network integration is highly desirable.
In-depth knowledge of telecom network protocols, standards, and architectures.
Strong understanding of network security, quality of service (QoS), and redundancy planning.
Experience with both legacy systems and next-generation network solutions.
