Job Description: Senior UVM Digital Verification Engineer

Location: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid – 3+ days in office per week)

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 annually

Type: Full-Time W2 No Sponsorship Relocation Available

Clearance: Must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance

About the Role

Our client, a highly collaborative digital design firm specializing in embedded security, cryptography, image processing, navigation, and communications, is seeking a Senior UVM Digital Verification Engineer.

In this role, you’ll lead advanced verification strategies for next-generation FPGA and ASIC systems. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and play a key role in developing mission-critical digital hardware platforms.

.Responsibilities

Develop UVM testbenches (block/chip level) for verification of proprietary and standard buses

Create and execute comprehensive verification plans and cover groups

Lead and contribute to code and functional coverage closures (aiming for 100%)

Collaborate closely with RTL designers to debug simulation failures

Implement VIPs for protocols like DDR3/DDR4, AMBA AXI

Perform formal analysis and use System Verilog assertions (SVA)

Script automation flows using Python, Bash, or Perl

Review code and mentor junior team members

Participate in technical planning and risk mitigation strategies

Communicate technical details across stakeholders with clarity and confidence

Skills & Experience

Required:

5–15 years in digital verification or systems analysis

Proficiency in UVM, System Verilog, and coverage-driven verification

Hands-on experience with major simulators (Questasim, Xcelium, or VCS)

Familiarity with MBSE tools like SysML and MATLAB/Simulink

Solid understanding of IEEE bus standards and protocol verification

Experience working in a Linux environment

Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills

Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related (Master’s preferred)

Nice to Have:

Experience with integrating modeling tools with simulation tools

Formal verification background

Prior leadership of small technical teams ( 5 people)

Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance
