Job Opportunity: CMM Programmer
Location: Schuamburg, IL
Shift: 1st plus OT as needed
Compensation: $25 - $35/hr based on experience
We are currently hiring a CMM Programmer to join our quality team and contribute to precision inspection processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves programming coordinate-measuring machines to support engineering, operations, and customer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create and maintain CMM inspection routines using Zeiss/Calypso and/or Mitutoyo/MCOSMOS software.
Review and interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T to build accurate inspection plans.
Collect, analyze, and format measurement data for internal teams and external clients.
Provide dimensional and statistical reports and support capability studies.
Assist the quality inspection team with hands-on measurement tasks as needed.
Perform reverse engineering tasks by capturing part geometry through scanning or programming methods.
Operate common precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
Maintain compliance with ISO, ANSI/ASME, and quality management standards.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience as a CMM Programmer (preferred).
At least 2 years working in inspection within a manufacturing setting (required).
Strong skills in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
Experience with Calypso and/or MCOSMOS software required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).
Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
Knowledge of ISO standards and familiarity with QMS practices.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain seated or standing for prolonged periods.
Occasional lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
Dexterity to handle precision instruments and parts.
