PURPOSE OF JOB:

To provide direct patient care and selected therapeutic interventions under the direction of a Regisered Nurse. To collaborate as part of the patient care team to accomplish the goals established for the patients and execute the objectives and policies of the hospital while functioning within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Collaborates with the RN to assess, plan, implement, document, coordinate and manage patient care according to department and hospital standards and considering age-specific accommodations.

Communicates and collaborates with patients, physicians, family members and other health care disciplines in achieving excellence in patient care during hospitalization.

Promotes safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures and evidence-based guidelines and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.

Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.

Maintains clinical competency according to hospital and unit-specific standards.

Job Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.

Have a current Licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of State Bureau of Occupational and Professional Affairs.

Experience:

Other Skills:

Certified in B.L.S. for Healthcare Provider

Certified in ACLS for Healthcare Providers

Certified in PALS for Healthcare Providers

Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
