Description:

Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges ️. That’s why we’ve spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily .

Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet’s go-to travel hack accessible for all .

Our vision? To be the world’s number one travel ally. (Ambitious? Yes, but, hey, that’s what got us here.)

Now, we’re looking for an App Marketing Director to drive app-first growth in EMEA, APAC, and LATAM markets and help build lasting, value-led relationships with our travellers.

You can be based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, or London, where we adopt a hybrid working policy of working in the office twice a week.

About the role

Hybrid

As App Marketing Director, you’ll own the global app marketing strategy — leading Skyscanner’s app growth across markets and channels. You’ll turn downloads into daily users, champion app-first thinking across teams, and make sure travellers see our app as the easiest way to plan every trip.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who’s fluent in mobile growth and loves the thrill of shaping both brand and performance levers. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, data, and brand teams — ensuring every tap, swipe, and notification works harder (and smarter) for travellers.

What you’ll be doing

Owning the app marketing strategy: Define and deliver the global approach for app acquisition, retention, and engagement — setting the KPIs and pace to match our ambition.

Accelerating new user acquisition: Partner with performance and social teams to scale install campaigns globally while hitting ROI targets.

Driving App Store visibility: Lead ASO strategy, testing, and experimentation to climb the charts across iOS and Android.

Optimising web-to-app journeys: Build friction-free conversion paths from web to app, boosting activation and engagement.

Boosting retention and re-engagement: Use behavioural insight and in-app personalisation to keep users coming back for more.

Creating a compelling proposition: Collaborate with Research, Product, and Brand to define what makes our app unmissable for travellers.

Tracking performance and scaling growth: Set bold install and retention goals, manage budgets, and take data-driven action to grow sustainably.

About you

Mobile-first marketer: You bring 15+ years in marketing with deep expertise in app growth, ASO, and lifecycle marketing.

Proven growth leader: You’ve scaled mobile apps in complex global environments — APAC experience is a major plus.

Strategic and hands-on: You can see the big picture but aren’t afraid to get into the campaign trenches.

Cross-functional influencer: You thrive on collaboration with product, data, engineering, and design to make growth happen.

Customer-obsessed: You understand traveller behaviour, focus on long-term engagement, and always think experience-first.

Analytical and data-driven: You love numbers, measure what matters, and make investment decisions grounded in data.

Inspirational leader: You’ve built and led high-performing teams — fostering a culture of creativity, pace, and purpose.
