Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Senior Accountant to manage tax compliance and assist with tax planning for a variety of clients. As a key member of the tax team, you will collaborate with other professionals, contribute to client relationships, and play an integral role in the preparation and review of tax returns and research.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, staying current on changes to tax laws and industry trends.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations for clients.
Tax Research & Analysis:
Conduct tax research and provide technical support for complex tax issues.
Help clients navigate tax-saving opportunities, incentives, credits, and deductions.
Client Interaction:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional client service and communication.
Respond to client inquiries and address tax-related questions.
Supervisory Support:
Oversee and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
Review the work of staff accountants and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Special Projects & Planning:
Assist with special projects such as tax audits, mergers and acquisitions, and other advisory services.
Support tax planning strategies to help clients minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA license required or in progress.
3+ years of public accounting experience, with a focus on tax compliance and preparation.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with tax software (e.g., CCH, Thomson Reuters, UltraTax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
