The GV (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, is seeking a Chief, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary.

Position Highlights:

Assist the Chief of Staff in the tracking, monitoring, reporting, supervision and oversight of: physician productivity, service reports, and special requests for reports, supervision of clinical and administrative staff.

Contribute to the operation of effective and safe laboratories that are in compliance with standards established by the College of American Pathology (CAP), the Joint Commission (JC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and American Society for Microbiology (ASM).

Ensure accurate clinical laboratory test results with turn-around times that meet the reasonable and possible expectations of the medical staff and accrediting agencies

Exercise administrative, programmatic, clinical, anatomical and academic oversight of pathology and laboratory programs to ensure delivery of quality services.

Tour of duty (schedule) Monday - Friday 08:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Light on-call responsibility

Salary range: $300,000 - $400,000

Basic Requirements:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in a related specialty - Pathology.

Unrestricted U.S. medical license

Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
