Our client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and harmonization of lending and fraud-related systems across AWS and on-premise environments. This hands-on role supports a strategic effort to simplify and align applications around a shared understanding of the customer throughout the entire consumer lifecycle—from onboarding and credit decisioning to servicing and fraud mitigation.
This role requires deep domain expertise in consumer lending and fraud prevention, alongside strong architectural experience in high-volume, high-availability environments. The architect will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to streamline redundant systems, reduce complexity, and ensure real-time, consistent customer intelligence across all touchpoints.
This is not a governance or oversight position; this is a delivery-focused architecture role. Over time, this person will build and lead a small team of 1–3 solution architects or senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
· Architect and simplify integrations between cloud-native and on-premise applications to support a unified customer profile across lending and fraud domains and vendor solutions.
· Design scalable, resilient solutions leveraging AWS-native services to meet the performance and availability demands of real-time decisioning systems.
· Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to align technical design with business priorities.
· Rationalize existing technology footprints to reduce duplication and promote reuse across systems.
· Ensure new and existing systems support shared customer context, enabling faster decisions and more effective fraud mitigation.
· Drive implementation in Agile delivery environments and ensure architecture evolves iteratively alongside business needs.
· Mentor junior architects and eventually lead a small team (1–3 resources).
Required Qualifications
· 7+ years of application or solution architecture experience, including 3+ years in lending or financial services.
· Deep knowledge of AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Step Functions, and IAM.
· Strong background in consumer lending systems and fraud detection platforms.
· Experience designing and implementing high-throughput, high-availability systems in regulated industries.
· Proficiency in integration patterns including RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, and message queues.
· Demonstrated ability to simplify complex application landscapes and unify data models or customer representations.
· Excellent stakeholder management and communications
