Background:

This position supports the discovery, implementation, and sustainment of a ServiceNow suite for a dedicated Department of Defense (DoD) community with significant leadership visibility. The Developer / Implementer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying ServiceNow solutions across various modules, including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), and Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD). This role requires technical expertise in ServiceNow development and a proactive approach to ensuring platform functionality, scalability, and compliance with DoD requirements.

This position is based 4 days onsite/1 day remote.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and configure ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, HAM, SAM, and HRSD modules to meet business and mission requirements

Develop custom workflows, business rules, scripts, and UI policies to enhance platform functionality and user experience

Integrate ServiceNow with external systems and tools through APIs, web services, and other integration methods

Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical input, and translate needs into actionable development tasks

Conduct unit testing, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects to ensure high-quality deliverables

Participate in system upgrades, patching, and hotfixes to maintain platform stability and performance

Implement and maintain automated processes to optimize ServiceNow functionality and efficiency

Create reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support operational insights and decision-making

Document technical designs, configuration details, and workflows to ensure clarity and alignment with project objectives

Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on ServiceNow best practices and development standards

Ensure compliance with DoD security frameworks, including RMF, NIST 800-171, and CMMC standards

Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline) or equivalent experience

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer or Implementer

Proven experience with multiple ServiceNow modules, including ITSM; experience with ITOM, HRSD, HAM, or SAM is a plus

Experience in DoD or federal environments is preferred

Certifications:

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) for relevant modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, HRSD) preferred

ITIL certification is a plus

Technical Proficiency:

Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, development, and integration

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Glide API) and integration methods (e.g., REST/SOAP APIs)

Experience with Agile development tools such as Jira or ServiceNow Agile Development

Skills:

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage stakeholders effectively

Proactive and innovative approach to designing scalable and efficient solutions

Clearance:

Active Security clearance required; eligibility for higher-level clearance is a plus
