MBS is hiring AWS Cloud Engineer V in Cincinnati, OH. This position is full-time, temp to hire opportunity.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, and maintain modular AI services on AWS using Lambda, SageMaker, Bedrock, S3, and related components—built for scale, governance, and cost-efficiency.
Lead the end-to-end development of RAG pipelines that connect internal datasets (e.g., logs, S3 docs, structured records) to inference endpoints using vector embeddings.
Design and fine-tune LLM-based applications, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) using LangChain and other frameworks.
Tune retrieval performance using semantic search techniques, proper metadata handling, and prompt injection patterns.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into secure, scalable AI systems.
Own the software release lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, GitHub-based SDLC, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
Support the development and evolution of reusable platform components for AI/ML operations.
Create and maintain technical documentation for the team to reference and share with our internal customers.
REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in Python, GoLang, and/or Node.js.
Active contributor to open-source AI/ML/Cloud projects with visible community impact (e.g., forks, stars, or merged PRs).
Hands-on experience building RAG, semantic search, and LLM-augmented applications using frameworks like Transformers, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and LangChain.
Ph.D. in AI/ML/Data Science or named inventor on ML/AI-related patents (pending or granted).
Deep expertise with AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker, ECS, Lambda) and production ML model deployment.
Strong track record of delivering production-ready software with integrated CI/CD pipelines.
Skilled in Policy as Code (Terraform Sentinel) and AWS org-level policy enforcement (SCP, AWS Config).
FinOps-minded with experience optimizing AI system cost-performance.
Knowledgeable in data privacy and compliance best practices (e.g., PII handling, secure deployment).
Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
