DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & SPORT SCIENCE

One Year Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor in Allied HealthOtterbein University, a comprehensive liberal arts institution, invites applications for a One Year Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor position for the academic year 2025-2026 in the area of allied health.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities will be teaching and involvement in department activities will be required. The teaching load is 4 + 4. The candidate should have a commitment to teaching in a comprehensive liberal arts-based institution along with a commitment to service-based activities to the department, University, community and/or profession. The candidate will assist other faculty members and the department in recruiting students to this program. They will also play a role in retaining current Allied Health students through advising and engagement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

A doctorate degree in Allied Health or Health Sciences or a similar field of study is required for the level of Assistant Professor. Three years of teaching experience in an Allied Health related field preferred, managing and/or practicing in the Allied Health field (physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc.) preferred.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

COMPENSATION: For the rank of Instructor - $62,000. For the rank of Assistant Professor - $71,500

START DATE: August 2025

DEPARTMENT: The Department consists of six full-time faculty and several part-time faculty members. We offer majors in Allied Health, Exercise Science and Health Promotion, Public Health Education, Sport Management, Allied Health/Pre-Athletic Training Concentration and minors in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, Public Health Education, Nutrition and Sport Management.
