Oncology Advanced Practice Provider

A leading healthcare facility in Upstate New York is seeking a compassionate Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to join their expanding oncology team in Jefferson County.

In this role, the NP/PA will provide comprehensive cancer care, including prevention, health promotion, management of acute and chronic illness, and education and support for patients and families.

About the Opportunity:Schedule: Monday to FridayHours: Standard business hoursSpecialty: Oncology Responsibilities:The Oncology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (NP/PA):Assess patients' physical and psychological status through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic studiesConduct patient examinations and collect physical condition informationOrder medical equipment, supplies, and various diagnostic tests (e.g., lab tests, X-rays, CT scans)Develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, including disease diagnosis and appropriate care plansProvide patient care, including administering injections, immunizations, wound care, and prescribing medications and therapies under supervisionInterpret and evaluate findings from diagnostic studies, ensuring therapeutic plans align with patients' ongoing care needsDocument patient history, admission notes, care plans, progress notes, discharge notes, and follow-up letters Qualifications:Current NYS Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant CertificationOncology experience and knowledge Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
