Position Summary:

MarshBerry is currently seeking a Placement Specialist, High Net-worth for our Richmond, Virginia office. The Placement Specialist, High Net-worth will market, quote, and bind new business, build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with members and carrier underwriters, serve as liaison between members and insurance carriers, and provide excellent service to all FirstChoice members and partners.

Responsibilities:

Review new business submissions and triage appropriately. Identify the best opportunities as well as accounts to decline due to class of business, insufficient lead time, E&S or non-standard business, etc. within established procedures and timeline.

Market new and renewal business based on the applicant’s risk profile and geographic location. Prepare carrier-generated proposals and communicate results to members.

Proactively develop relationships with FirstChoice members. Work with Regional Sales Directors and/or Regional Sales Leaders to identify and capitalize on cross-sell opportunities.

Maintain knowledge of basic underwriting skills, insurance regulations, best practices, and carrier appetites. Educate members regarding insurance coverages, needs, and pricing.

Maintain a suspense system to proactively follow-up on quotes, member correspondence, and any outstanding items to bind policies and successfully close new business.

Maintain electronic files in an orderly manner as prescribed in the FirstChoice standard operating procedures.

Provide timely, courteous, and professional customer service to all FirstChoice members and partners.

Contribute to individual and team written premium goals.

Other special projects, tasks or duties as assigned by Management.

Selection Criteria

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’ Degree in Finance, Business, or other related field or the equivalent of 8+ years’ experience in personal lines insurance.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in personal lines insurance.

Proficient with technology: CRM, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Knowledge of Applied Epic is a plus.

In depth knowledge of insurance coverages and carriers.

Other:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated creativity with regard to work.

Outstanding customer service; an enthusiastic professional able to build relationships with co-workers and clients.

Ability to adjust to changes in priorities and expectations.

Team-oriented: positive and professional, able to show consideration for and maintain good working relations with coworkers. Remains opens to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.

Ability to multitask; able to complete projects and responsibilities with extreme attention to detail according to required timelines and deadlines along with capacity to work under pressure to create accurate results.

High ethics: displays strong moral and ethical fortitude, prescribing to the values, standards, and policies of MarshBerry.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
