Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Structural Drafter with strong expertise in AutoCAD and steel connection detailing to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed structural drawings and shop drawings with a focus on steel connections for commercial, industrial, and/or residential projects.

Location:

We service primarily Fort Worth, TX so you will need to be willing to commute to job sites all over Fort Worth.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm

Pay is based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce detailed 2D structural and steel connection drawings using AutoCAD.

Interpret architectural and engineering plans and specifications.

Draft structural framing plans, details, and sections.

Create and revise shop drawings for steel fabricators and erectors.

Coordinate with structural engineers and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness.

Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, standards (AISC), and project specifications.

Maintain version control of drawings and documentation.

Qualifications:

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Must have a valid drivers license and reliable means of transportation.

Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Tekla Structures Software (mandatory).

2–5 years of experience in structural drafting with a focus on steel detailing OR a new graduate with an associate’s degree OR certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Strong understanding of structural systems and steel connection types (bolted, welded, etc.).

Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., AISC, AWS).

Excellent attention to detail and drafting accuracy.

Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.

Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, Tekla, or Advance Steel) is a plus.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a design-build or engineering firm.

Familiarity with BIM workflows.
