Lab Research Assistant (Part-Time)

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Butler University invites applications for a part-time Lab Research Assistant position. We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in molecular biology. Candidates should possess at least two years of documented laboratory experience and/or hold a bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.

Applicants must have hands-on experience with key molecular biology techniques, including PCR and human cell culture. The selected candidate will support an NIH-funded research project during the summer of 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate effectively with the principal investigator and other lab team members

Perform molecular biology procedures such as PCR, human cell culture, and related techniques

Analyze experimental data and contribute to the preparation of progress reports

Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records in a lab notebook

Assist with general lab maintenance tasks, including autoclaving and sterilization of equipment
