Florence Copper is a wholly owned subsidiary of Taseko Mines Limited which is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Taseko is also the operator and the owner of the Gibraltar copper/molybdenum mine in Canada and various other development projects.
Overview
The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and monitoring processes involved in In Situ Copper Recovery (ISCR) and Solvent Exchange/Electrowinning (SXEW) plant operations. The Process Engineer will collaborate closely with operations, environmental, and engineering teams to develop cost-effective and sustainable process applications.
Responsibilities:
Work with staff to implement plant process changes, including chemical and mechanical methods, to ensure efficient and effective mineral recovery
take project management and/or design work associated with additional construction and modifications of SXEW plant and associated ISCR systems
Facilitate process equipment changes and specifications
Documentation of process changes and modifications
Collaborate with staff to identify and integrate new technologies to increase production rates and reduce operational costs
Analyze operational data to assess process performance and implement improvements
Utilize data analytics and modeling software and simulate process improvements and predict outcomes
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, implementing protocols to minimize environmental impact
Design processes to minimize chemical usage and manage byproducts in an environmentally responsible manner
Support cross-functional teams with technical insights to improve production and develop innovative processing solutions
Lead or contribute to projects aimed at optimizing mining operations from initial testing through to implementation and scaling
Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation for process design, testing and optimization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years’ experience in process engineering, or related industry
Proficiency with process simulation software and data analysis tools
Strong knowledge of mining regulation, health, and safety standards as well as environmental management best practices
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues in complex systems

Proficient in data collection, statistical analysis and process simulation
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
