Java/AWS Architect

Job Description

Akkodis is seeking aJava/AWS Architect for a Contract job with a client in Morris Plains, NJ/Austin, TX (Hybrid). Responsibilities include leading the microservice development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, secure code, and mentoring cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based solutions.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java/AWS Architect job responsibilities include:

Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, and S3.

Modernize legacy applications by transitioning them to cloud-based, serverless architectures.

Oversee the full microservice development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to architecture, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Develop secure, high-quality Java code with a focus on performance and scalability, primarily using Spring Boot and Kafka.

Optimize and scale AWS solutions, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost management.

Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment and integration.

Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and architecture diagrams.

Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and adherence to client requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

15+ years of experience in Java development, with significant expertise in AWS and cloud architecture.

Extensive experience in modernizing legacy applications into cloud-based, serverless solutions.

Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Step Functions, and VPCs.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $65.00 per hour
