Java/AWS Architect

Job Description

Akkodis is seeking aJava/AWS Architect for a Contract job with a client in Morris Plains, NJ/Austin, TX (Hybrid). Responsibilities include owning the full microservice development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality code, and mentoring cross-functional teams to meet client requirements.

Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java/AWS Architect job responsibilities include:

Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of cloud-based solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, and S3.

Modernize legacy applications to cloud-based, serverless architectures.

Develop high-quality, secure, and scalable Java code, primarily using Spring Boot and Kafka.

Ensure automated CI/CD pipeline setup and optimize microservices for deployment and monitoring.

Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and architecture diagrams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile ceremonies to ensure timely project delivery.

Mentor junior developers and provide leadership in technical decision-making.

Work closely with business and supporting teams to align technical solutions with client requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

12+ years of experience in Java development, with a focus on AWS and cloud architecture.

Proven experience in modernizing legacy applications to cloud-based, serverless solutions.

Expertise in microservice architecture, particularly with Java, Spring Boot, and AWS services such as Lambda and S3.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
