Our major Oil & Gas (O&G) client is seeking a Project Scheduler to join their team in Pacheco, CA for a 12 -month assignment (with possibility of extension)
Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a detail-driven Project Scheduler to join our Engineering Project Controls team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules to support the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to ensure schedule alignment with cost, scope, and performance targets, leveraging tools such as Primavera P6, SAP, and Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage engineering project schedules from concept through commissioning using Primavera P6
Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to align schedule elements with cost and scope
Perform critical path and risk analysis to forecast potential delays and identify mitigation strategies
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to maintain realistic and achievable timelines
Conduct regular schedule performance reviews, progress assessments, and variance analyses
Support Earned Value Management (EVM) by integrating schedule and cost data
Generate and maintain resource-loaded schedules and manpower histograms
Provide scheduling guidance to project team members and stakeholders
Administer and maintain P6 EPPM systems, dashboards, and integrations with SAP and Maxavera
Ensure compliance with internal controls, project controls processes, and company policies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
At least 1 year of experience in project planning and scheduling
Proficient with Primavera P6, SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel
Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in advanced scheduling practices and tools
Experience managing multiple projects in P6 EPPM
Familiarity with tools such as STOx, Maxavera, and project benchmarking (e.g., IPA)
Knowledge of MPMP schedule deliverables, including interactive planning sessions and float analysis
