We are seeking part-time Pre-College instructors for High School Math, Science, Special Education and Elective. Under the leadership of the Program Assistant Directors and Coordinators, the Pre-College Program Teachers provide academic instruction and support to students enrolled in the College Bound, GEAR UP or Upward Bound Programs. Teachers provide content-specific rigorous lessons for enrichment and remedial support. Other services and activities coordinated by the individuals in this role include design of engagement plans for students who may be struggling and offer other supports and strategies for student success.

This is a part time, hourly, position.

Example of Duties:

Part-time, Fall – Spring (20 Saturdays) 8:30 am – 1:30 pm. (up to 10 hours/week)

Proficient with technology

Collect, analyze and maintain student data, including test scores and Personal Educational Plans to improve service delivery to students and increase student outcomes

Plan and deliver engaging curriculum in required content area using culturally responsive practices

Establish and maintain relationship(s) with Pre College personnel, any additional personnel related to the program

Facilitate ongoing monitoring and assessment of student progress

Prerequisite Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required, Certification in related subject area (mathematics, English, biology, physics, chemistry) preferred.

Must have one or more years’ classroom teaching experience with adolescents, as well as experience in conducting testing and training activities.

Knowledge of effective instructional practices and classroom management techniques. Willingness to attend training to utilize the credit recovery platform.

Comfortable leading online lessons using Google Meet and/or Zoom.

Must be available to work the entirety of the six-week program.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with high school students

Knowledge of TRIO and/or college preparatory programs helpful.

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidates.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $36-$42.
