Job Description
1st Shift - 6 AM to 2 PM
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will program, set up, and operate CNC machines in accordance with good manufacturing practices (GMP) to support the fabrication of medical components throughout the company. This is a unique opportunity to work in a job shop manufacturing facility where each day and project differs.
What can you expect to do on a typical day?
Operate and set up CNC and manual spring coiling machines to produce compression, extension, and torsion springs and formed wires
Adjust machine settings such as tension, pitch, and feed rate to achieve desired dimensions and tolerances
Conduct changeovers efficiently for different spring designs or material specifications
Inspect springs for dimensional accuracy, surface quality using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and vision inspection systems. Identify make machine adjustments as necessary
Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) and customer specifications
Diagnose and resolve machine issues, including wire feeding problems, tooling wear, or calibration errors
Replace worn or damaged components such as mandrels, rollers, and guides
Work with various materials, including stainless steel and specialty alloys
Monitor material usage to minimize waste and ensure consistent quality
Suggest and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency and reduce scrap rates
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspection, cleaning, and servicing along with routine and preventative maintenance to avoid machine down time
Maintain maintenance logs of equipment serviced
Communicates and works with internal teams as needed
Follows all company procedures and protocols
What are the qualifications for this position?
High School diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in related field a plus
Experience in spring coiling, forming or related metal forming processes
Hands-on experience with CNC coiling machines, set-up, tooling and maintenance
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings
Knowledge of material properties
Experience with quality inspection tools and techniques
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Experience with basic hand tools
Capable of performing basic mathematical functions
Effective time management to meet production deadlines
