Job Overview
Ingleside Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. As the Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial data and adherence to regulatory standards. This role is critical in guiding the company’s financial strategy and supporting its growth objectives. For over 50 years, Ingleside has been a leader in non-profit housing and supportive services for the area's low to moderate income senior population. The Controller is an integral part of the senior management team, responsible for all financial activities of the organization, with an approximate annual budget of $7M.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, Medicaid/home care/assisted living billing, and general ledger functions.
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other regulatory reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to financial reporting.
Journal entries and reconciliation.
Monitor cash flow, budgeting processes, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in debits and credits across all accounts.
Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
Develop policies and procedures to improve internal controls over financial reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
A minimum of 5 years' proven experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in the non-profit arena.
Proficiency and ability to learn new accounting/payroll software; knowledge of Matrix, QuickBooks, One Site, Real Page and/or AxisCare preferred.
Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements (IFRS).
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members, vendors and board members.
Experience with payroll processing is a plus (ADP).
Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
