We're seeking a full-time Software Defined Radio (SDR) Development Engineer to work for the US Army’s DEVCOM C5ISR Center on-site in APG, Maryland. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a passion for exploring innovative ideas and concepts to enhance and optimize development projects. The candidate should possess the ability to understand and communicate highly complex technical concepts and requirements, particularly for embedded applications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of relevant development experience (experience with embedded systems is a plus).
Experience in accurately documenting software (requirements, flow diagrams, readme, user guides, etc.) and managing software bugs, features, epochs, sprints, and releases using tools (e.g., JIRA).
Experience with VHDL, Verilog, or MATLAB System Generator with competency in learning, developing, and maintaining existing source code and Xilinx-based FPGA projects.
Experience in a Linux OS environment, with advanced competency in installing and using software from Linux repositories and source code, such as building a C project from source using Make, and using Linux command-line utilities.
Experience with SDR frameworks such as GNU Radio, USRP/UHD, RTL-SDR, and Epiq SDR development kits (preferred).
Experience with commercial communication systems and/or radar signal processing is preferred. Ability to manipulate digital RF data with DSP algorithms and codec processing is a plus.
Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Clearance upon hire. Candidates with an existing TS/SCI clearance are preferred.
